The Park itself is in a picturesque venue with the meandering River Wyre on its doorstep and just a stroll away, across a footbridge over the river, is the charming village of Scorton, the gateway to the Forest of Bowland and hundreds of acres of unspoilt countryside just waiting to be explored.
The historic Fair Trade market town of Garstang, famous for its alleys - or weinds as they are called and cobbled streets is a five minute drive away and the busy city of Lancaster, which successfully blends together its many historic buildings with a shoppers paradise can be reached in 15 minutes.
Not much further afield are Blackpool and the coastal resorts of Cleveleys,Fleetwood and Morecambe and you can be parked up in the Lake District in less than 40 minutes.
There are pretty villages, too numerous to mention throughtout the area, with historic churches, whitewashed cottages, country pubs and restaurants in abundance. Just a walk away is the Lancaster Canal that winds its way through some of the most attractive countryside in the country on its slow journey from Preston to Lancaster and beyond.
